Getting Enough Fruits & Veggies in Your Day with SunRype

When I was chosen to be a SunRype Ambassador through the PTPA campaign, I was over the moon! Not only is it a favourite brand in our home, but it is a brand than offers so many more great products that I am happy to learn more about. And while we did have our staple SunRype products that the kids love, I have already introduced them to some new favourites, which I am so happy to share with you!

So dear friends, it has been just under a month of back-to-school mode and with that comes the very important task of preparing lunches for your little ones. My kindergartener has never been picky when it came to eating his fruit. In fact, he loves fruit, and until he was introduced to cookies and cakes, that is all he had as a “dessert”. But the one thing that I find hard to get into his diet is vegetables. Sure, he likes carrots and potatoes, but mostly anything green comes with the comment “I don’t like that”.  I’ve tried grilled, steamed, and roasted, but it just doesn’t work, and of course those methods are useless for lunchtime snacks or sides. What I have found to be helpful is camouflage. Yep, I said it! There will be a time and place when he looks forward to a plate of grilled zucchini, but for now, I will go with camouflage. What I find helps is to continue to introduce things at the table. I still will have the plate of zucchini and offer them, but when the answer is no, I have my back-up plan.

So for lunch, how can you camouflage veggies? Here are a few ideas I’m using: zucchini bread slices, hummus with roasted peppers, and apple muffins with an added veggie. Granted, this list is miniscule and if you have a child that wants variety, this just isn’t enough. Enter SunRype. I’m sure you have seen a few other brands offering you a fruit juice with added vegetables…and the taste is just not right. I tried a couple on the kids, but they were not going to have that. But when the SunRype juice box came and I offered my little ones the Fruit Plus Veggies Raspberry Orange, it was an instant win! I like to try anything I offer them too, and I love it. What I also love about them is that they come in various sizes, not just the 200ml juice boxes. I send my little one to school with a camping-type water bottle and I can just pour in some great Raspberry Orange for him in the morning, and he is good to go. I also offer him a juice box after school when he is quenched and he loves that treat!

Some of the fabulous products you could win!

I am just crazy for the SunRype Fruitsouce and Fruitsource Plus Veggie bars. Truthfully, we already eat the Fruitsource bars and I always have them on hand when we are out for the day as a perfect snack to keep in my purse. But I had no idea there was a Fruitsource Veggie bar! They are super filling, have a nice texture and taste like fruit (because they are made with real fruit!). The Plus Veggie bars have three servings of  fruits/veggies combined per bar! Isn’t that fantastic? And as I always love to point out: no colour, no preservatives, no added sugars…love that.

So friends, it’s one thing for me to rant and rave about our new favourite snacks, but it’s another thing to try them yourself, right? Well, thanks to SunRype, one lucky reader will win a $50 prize pack of SunRype products! Just fill the Rafflecopter form below to enter. Good luck to everyone!
