New Collaboration With A Focus On Italy

Over here on my family blog, AskMamaMOE.com, I have written a lot about the importance of family activities and traveling. I’ve also shared many, many moments on social media about the travels that we have taken as a family of five throughout Europe, particularly, Italy. We have had to privilege of traveling to Italy almost every year since our children were little to visit family and discover different gems throughout the country. As well, I lived and worked in Italy for three years with my husband before our kids were born. We had so many unique travels while living there. But for whatever reason – be it time, other focuses, etc., I have not written very much about specific places and experiences we have had in Italy on the blog.

While you can find posts such as Easter at the Vatican, Carnevale in Venice, it pales in comparison to the loads of experiences I have drafted on my computer or the memories I have saved in my mind and heart. I have been eager to get them out to you, my readers, because they are experiences I believe are worth sharing. They are the stories I relish telling my friends. They are the moments I can still get excited about to this very day, whether they were last year, or years ago. These exceptional travel experiences with my family and my work are moments I will never forget. Whether you are looking for treasured spots for your trip to Italy as a family, or if you would just like to read stories about Italia Bella, I now have a place to share them with you.

I am very proud to announce that I will be a regular contributor for Accenti.ca. Described as the Canadian magazine with an Italian accent, Accenti was founded by Domenic Cusmano and Licia Canton. The magazine is dedicated to Italian-Canadians and their unique experiences. Unbelievably, one of the first pieces I wrote while living in Italy was for Accenti. I’m so grateful we are collaborating to bring you even more of my stories from my time in Italy and Europe. This month, I have written about our mercato experience as a family with my in-laws. It is something we all look forward to when we visit them.

What is the mercato experience? It is the open-air shopping you can do in many towns in Italy. Generally speaking, the markets are open on the weekend, mostly on Saturdays. It is a great place to get your weekly produce and enjoy shopping outside. It is a true Italian experience! To read the full article, visit www.Accenti.ca . I hope you enjoy the read!

Breakfast in Italy is a cappuccino, a croissant (called brioche or cornetto) and some freshly squeezed orange juice (spremuta d’arancia). Ice cream is called gelato in Italian.

And for my Italy lovers, please let me know – what places would you like to read about? Be as specific as you like, we’ve had some very unique moments in Italy, and I can’t wait to share them all!
