No More Excuses for Family Videos

By the title, I am sure you know exactly what I’m talking about.

Not too long ago, when our first was born, we took digital video clips with a digital video camera and the goal was to put all those clips together on a DVD…one day.

Well, as you can imagine, our beautiful baby occupied our time and we just didn’t make it to creating a DVD with all the clips. I think we got the first year in one DVD but then gave up.

Then came our twins, and we kept right on taking digital videos and said that one day we would put them all together.

And now, my friends, as you are very aware, the smart phone lifestyle has allowed us to take videos and pictures and collect them in droves. And what do we say? One day I will put them together and make a nice video.

Well, now there is a way to collect your videos in a clever and easy way, thanks to, you guessed it, the One Day App.

I was asked to review this app and I have to say the idea is so refreshing and the app itself is very user-friendly. Available for both iPhone and Android users (thank you!), the app has themed questions for you to choose from and they aid as prompts for your videos.

Sure, taking candid videos of your kids playing is great, but this concept allows you to collect mini time capsules with a story for a beautiful video to share with friends and family. And there are so many video themes to choose from, there is something for every occasion,  even the random, fun times.

It couldn’t be easier:

  • Ready a prompt question
  • Hit record to record your answer to the question
  • Accept or re-record your answer
  • Move to the next question
  • Close when you are satisfied with your collection of answers

All the work of creating a fluid video with nice music in the background is instantly made for you! Because I don’t publicly show my kids on AskMamaMOE.com I decided to do a little video about my sister, Angela, founder of AnjaliMudraYoga.com who incidentally is expecting her first baby this spring. She’s had a busy year and I wanted to let her know she is awesome:

This was so easy to do and I’m happy with the results. I would use this with my kids for myself to have their answers to questions at different ages, as well as to create nice videos for family living far away.

Give it a try and you’ll see how fun it can be. There are even questions for adults/parents which can be nice mini videos to make for your kids or your partner. There may not be hope for the old footage of family videos we made long ago, but moving forward, this One Day app is the way to go 😉

Oh! And for trying out the free app, One Day is offering a fantastic giveaway! So many ways to enter, below. This giveaway is open to US and Canadian residents, until March 12th. Good luck to all and happy memory making!
