When the new Disney’s Lion King came to theatres in July, people were immediately drawn to go see the movie. So much so, that the movie made 1 billion dollars at the box office! Much like the live-action movies that have been made recently with incredible CG technologies, The Lion King is a re-telling of the now classic tale. The lion cup Simba learns who he is in this coming of age story filled with adventure, fantastic music and other colourful characters.
If your children loved the animated movie, they will truly enjoy this new production and you will inevitably get questions like “how did they do that?!” I wasn’t able to answer those questions in the movie theatre, but I’m looking forward to watching the bonus features with my boys to learn about all the amazing effects and technologies that were used to make The Lion King come to life. The original animation was my dad’s favourite Disney movie. He would have loved this incredible new version.
