If you have been following my blog for a while, you know I am a fan of eating healthy (for the most part!). I try very hard to introduce good healthy foods to my children and so far it’s going pretty well. But now that they are getting older and I don’t need to bring a fully equipped diaper bag with me to go out, it is incredibly easy to slip into the “we can pick something up when we get there” mode to eating and snacking.

Have you ever been to a Twitter party?
I know some of you are avid Twitter party guests, but maybe some of you aren’t even on Twitter. First of all, if you are not, you should be! It is really a great social media outlet.

Perhaps I haven’t mentioned it, but those you know me, know that I am a chocoholic. I pretty much have a piece of chocolate every day (…reaches for chocolate while typing). And although it is a staple in my diet, I have made it very sparse in the home because I didn’t want my kids to be hooked on sweets at a young age. Believe it or not, my first little one didn’t have chocolate until he was three years old.

I don’t know about you, but I find it really easy to feed my children well. However, when it comes to me, I am getting stinking lousy at it! With the change in season, and the rush of school activities and holidays ahead, it would make perfect sense to eat well for my own health. But here I am, a little under the weather and I should have practiced what I always preach.

When I was chosen to be a SunRype Ambassador through the PTPA campaign, I was over the moon! Not only is it a favourite brand in our home, but it is a brand than offers so many more great products that I am happy to learn more about. And while we did have our staple SunRype products that the kids love, I have already introduced them to some new favourites, which I am so happy to share with you!

Pesto is a great sauce for pasta and it’s a great change from tomato sauce. In order to make our pesto healthier, I make it with baby spinach leaves instead of basil leaves. At home we call it “Popeye Pasta” and the kids go crazy for it!

There are very few times that I voluntarily want to turn on my oven in the dead of summer. We eat cold meals often, eat outside in the shade, and rarely have big hot meals. But there is one thing that we always eat, in the winter or the summer. Pizza!

Summer is on its way and my friends are already talking about having barbeques and enjoying parties on the deck. Sounds great, right? It does to me! Good food, good fun…One of the best parts about summer is being able to invite friends and family over to enjoy their company. Doesn’t it seem that whenever you have people over it automatically revolves around food?

As you can see by my go-to chocolates, I am strictly a milk chocolate lover. That is, with the exception of one fine white chocolate dessert. Grandma MOE used to make this for family and friends every holiday season in a beautiful chocolate wreath mould. I started the tradition last year, but this year I was a little late in the game. So I thought, why not introduce you to it for Valentine’s Day?
