A Love Poem

There’s something about you I can’t explain.
You are such a force and such a weakness of mine.
Sometimes my days do not feel complete without you
When I can’t have you, I feel weary and drained.
No one knows what you mean to me;
Not the kids, not my husband.
You really get me. You lift my spirits;
You give me an extra boost for the rest of my day.
When we’re together, I feel I can do anything!
Oh, if only we could be together every day.
Even if it was just a quick twenty minute encounter…
But you and I both know it can’t continue.
The children are getting bigger,
And my husband is starting to wonder about us.
I just want to say
I have enjoyed every time,
Every moment.
