As a part of the Our Kids Private School Expo Blog Hop, I have been asked to write about a school memory. When I sat down to write about one school memory, like all of you, many came to mind. So I thought I would share what led me to my passion.
In high school, what I remember most is how everything that gave me the most joy, revolved around the arts. It was the first time in my life that I saw the arts as a real career path. Up until elementary, the art was more of a hobby with crafts and activities. But when I discovered the arts in a new environment, I was home.
I was always the creative type, with journals and sketch books, collages and creations. So when I had art class in high school I adored every minute of it. Learning about the history of artists, different styles of art, and getting my hands dirty in every possible material available, to me, was a little piece of heaven.
So you see, it is nearly impossible for me to write just one fond memory about school, because my memories are so many that, combined, made me the ‘artist’ that I am today. I love writing and I will never stop. It truly is my passion. And it was cultivated by my experience in high school.
