You have probably heard it a million times as a mama, but sometimes it gets away from you. Especially if you have more than one child, it’s hard to always “write it down.” all the funny anecdotes, all the milestones. I have heard it before, how a mama almost finished the baby book for the first child, then maybe got halfway through for the second, and the third was lucky to even get a book, let alone anything in it.

Have you got seasonal children’s books you take out during the year?
I’ve found some beautiful books that I like being able to re-read to my children for each allotted holiday.
Valentine’s Day is no exception. To date, these are the Valentine’s books I have for my children that we refer to each year.

As you can see by my go-to chocolates, I am strictly a milk chocolate lover. That is, with the exception of one fine white chocolate dessert. Grandma MOE used to make this for family and friends every holiday season in a beautiful chocolate wreath mould. I started the tradition last year, but this year I was a little late in the game. So I thought, why not introduce you to it for Valentine’s Day?

Here is a (not so) Wordless Wednesday to start off love month. It’s a heart shaped bowl filled with snow. My oldest child filled it up for me! I think that’s a great way to say “I love you”!

There’s something about you I can’t explain.
You are such a force and such a weakness of mine.
Sometimes my days do not feel complete without you
When I can’t have you, I feel weary and drained. -
Well, I don’t know what it’s like where you are today, but here in Montreal it is freakin’ cold!

Here we are at the start of a new year and holiday parties and get-togethers done. Kids are back at school and work is back in full force. Isn’t it wonderful to catch up with loved ones during the holidays? I had some special moments this year, and I hope you did too. It took a long time for the snow to hit the ground here in Montreal, but now it’s here! And with the bitter cold on some days, it feels like a proper Canadian winter.

Last year I celebrated my one year bloggiversary. And during that year, I managed to grow my blog in such a way I didn’t even know possible at the beginning of the year. I’m really enjoying writing when I get the time (I have three little ones under five, you do that math). But one of the best, BEST things that I experienced through blogging this past year has got to be all the wonderful posts I have read. Some have been sad, some happy, and some downright hilarious! I have enjoyed what each one of them has brought to me. So I thought, to begin this new year, I could share with you some my favourites from 2011.

Found this great cookie tray by Wilton this season. Just press your gingerbread dough into the molds and voila!
