Stuck On You – Review & Giveaway

Ok, tell me the truth. Did you manage to get those cool school labels for your kids that you’ve seen some sporting this year? Or were you a little late in the game and just got a permanent maker and went to town on all the supplies and clothes? Well, I probably would have been in that situation too, if I hadn’t gotten an opportunity to review Stuck On You labels. 

Since this is my first year of returning permission slips and ordering things for school, I must admit, I wasn’t on top of the label thing, and I didn’t really know what to get. Stuck On You helped me with that. 

Nadia, the great Stuck On You representative at the Montreal headquarters, took time to explain all the different labels to me and what I really would be able to use and need for my little one’s first year. She also reminded me that whatever isn’t used now can be used for the next school year.

TIP #1: Have more than one child? Use only the last name of your child’s things. It will prevent you from having to change labels for your younger kids once they need the supplies or clothes that your first outgrows.

The variety of labels seemed overwhelming, but it was fun for my little one to choose what characters and colours he wanted for each of his labels. And it was nice to be able to choose more than one for the packs of labels. In the end, he had his favourite colours and favourite sports on various labels. It became a great project to get ready for school and get him excited about it. And you should have seen his face when the labels came by post!

We received a variety pack of labels. There are labels for the inside of shoes, for clothes, school supplies, and lunch containers (dishwasher safe). We also received a fantastic pencil case, styled with his name on a rocket! It’s a great size too, not skimpy in the least. These past school months I have put the labels to the test and they are doing great! 

TIP #2: If you label containers for snacks and lunch, be sure it is on a flat surface of the container, otherwise the edge may lift slightly.

TIP #3: For the non-iron clothing labels, they do work, but if you wash frequently and in very hot water, iron them on first without steam. If you do that, they won’t come off at all. 

The range of labels is just great, and they really are not limited to young children, or children at all for that matter. There are some really nice labels for the home and office as well. I also liked the artistic labels; they are very sweet and playful, which is nice to have on your everyday items to give them a bit of life. Other Stuck On You items include backpacks, pencil cases and pencils, art smocks, as well as these great safety bracelets for when you take the kids to an outing.

SAFETY TIP: For labels or tags on the outside of backpacks, do not label with your child’s name. I got the school tag and placed my little one’s name on the inside. This way his name is there in case his bag should get lost, but it’s not visible for strangers to call out his name (you can never be too safe). Same goes with the safety bracelets, mark their info on the inside.
