Time Flies, What Is Important?

So, my last post was in the month of Christmas carols and yuletide cheer. Can spring be around the corner? Oh yes, time flies. Especially with little ones. Some days run into others and before you know it, another holiday is upon you and you don’t even know how it happened! Well, this year, my “resolution” – how I dislike that word – is to take more time (from where, I’m not sure yet) to document life more. I recently heard a great song by the band, Melee called ‘Someday You’ll Be A Story’. The chorus resonated with me. It was exactly what I was feeling and couldn’t quite express it so eloquently. Your knowledge of the people that you have known and loved, may be the only information that you can pass down to your children. Think about it. If not you, who? And not just those other people who may mean the world to you, right now, who means the world to your children? Y.O.U. And only you have the power to give them the very best of you…I know I would have loved to get a document of sorts with writings of my grandparents, their thoughts in their words.

What are your favourite ways to document your life?

P.S. If this truly interests you, you must check out the TV show called “Who Do You Think You Are?”

Scrapbooks are not my thing either. Lately, I’ve been taking the best of my photos and producing slideshows set to my favorite music. I’ve been posting them on my blog…one a week, but plan to have them burned to DVD so that I can share with family members that are not online.

I’m also into genealogy and have one book for my mother’s side and another for my father’s. I recently found out that I share family tree branches with one of Walt Disney’s original animators. Being a huge Disney fan…makes this kind of a big deal to me. I think this fits the premise of “Who Do You Think You Are?” In reverse. Maybe?

But yes! Time does fly!!! And sorry for over-estimating your curiosity. 🙂
