Unwrapped – A Quesada Burrito Bowl Review {plus a giveaway}

If you’ve read my blog for a while, you know I’m a big fan of Quesada Burritos and Tacos. I was thrilled when I was first introduced to them for many reasons. The chain of delicious Mexican food is not only a great alternative to the staple quick service meals, but the menu is very healthy, with only the freshest ingredients. You can read about why I keep Quesada’s Home Edition at the top of my takeout list here.

But this time, I wanted to draw your attention to the Burrito Bowls that Quesada is promoting right now. I actually hadn’t tried it yet, so I was happy to give it a try with my son on our lunch date this week. When we arrived for lunch, the place was full with a lineup of hungry customers, but it ran quickly and we had plenty of time on his lunch break to enjoy our meal at the restaurant together.

20160413_122854[1]I thought I would miss having the crispy tacos but the Burrito Bowl is scrumptious on its own. And more than that, it is incredibly filling! I had a large size Burrito Bowl with brown rice and slow cooked black beans, grilled chicken, corn, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. It was topped with sour cream and mild salsa (which is made from scratch each day). So basically, everything you can get in a taco or burrito but in a bowl instead.

I actually really enjoyed this tasty option and I devoured it. As soon as I took the first bite, I knew it was going to be a dish I would love getting again and again. But son decided to stick with what he loved, and he ate the regular size burrito (with grilled chicken). Along with the meals, we also got his favourite mango smoothie drink by Naked. I love that Quesada has healthy choices of drinks as well, and not just the typical sodas.

The regular Burrito Bowl was a mere $6.89 plus taxes, which is a great price for a hearty and healthy meal. Our meals, extra chips and drink came to $21.68 and we were completely stuffed. So much so, that I offered my son a small ice cream at the shop down the way from Quesada and he turned it down! He said he was full enough and didn’t want an ice cream (I’m not kidding!).

If you are looking for delicious quick service meal, try the Burrito Bowl. You won’t be disappointed!
