Ford Explorer Test Drive

Did you know there is a Sibling Day? Yep, the date is April 10th and Ford Canada helped me celebrate Sibling Day with my sister and family during the Easter break. I was invited to test drive the Ford Explorer with my family. Here is how we enjoyed the drive.

The long weekend consisted of running errands, picking up the kids and taking a road trip to the Eastern Townships, as well as getting back home on the Sunday to do our traditional Easter egg hunt and have a family meal with my sister, her husband and my baby niece. Known as the best SUV in the US for 25 years running, I was eager test drive the Ford Explorer during such a busy week.

It may be a beast to a smaller person, but it is so comfortable as a driver, no mater your size.

The first thing I have to mention as a shorter person, is that, generally when I see a larger car like the Explorer, I immediately think I won’t be comfortable and/or secure in my leg distance for the driving. I distinctly remember having to nix certain cars when I was shopping for my first car because the distance from the seat to the pedals was just to far for my short legs. So of course, when I stood beside the Ford Explorer, I thought that might be the case again. Not a chance! To my elation, the Explorer has a feature to adjust the pedal distance!! That’s right! No only can you adjust the driver’s sit, but the pedals can be raised – perfection.

As I have mentioned before, I’m a big fan of tech in cars, especially when it comes to safety and enjoyment for a better drive. So, next on my Ford Explorer top features has got to be the front and rear view cameras. Both have wide angle lenses for more visibility. The Explorer also has sensors for your safety when you get too close to objects. What’s more is your steering wheel gives you a small vibration if you sway too much to another lane. This new technology takes some getting use to, but I was grateful for these features because it gave me more security.

Oh, the Perks

I have an older car, so test driving the Ford Explorer with all it’s new tech was so much fun (and it secretly makes me want to upgrade).

Are you kidding me?! This was awesome.

Driving long distances gets me a tired. So I tested out the massager and it helped me stay alert! Friends thought it would do the opposite, but nope. As well, my husband tried it out in different strengths as the passenger and loved it too.

The ability to connect my phone with ease was such a pleasure, and the boys liked the big screen so they could read the songs and see the album covers.

Oh, the sunroof...

Oh, the sunroof…

Aside from the music quality and big screen feature, I think their favourite feature was the sunroof! There is something special about seeing the clouds above you as you drive long distances in the comfort of an amazing car.

As a driver, I really loved the Ford Explorer. Test drive one yourself and you will see why.
