New Perspective & A New Giveaway

I get asked a lot of questions from new mamas about taking care of babies, taking care of multiples, and general questions about the best family products on the market. When I get asked a question about anything, I don’t just answer. I do some major research, I compare things, and I get back to someone. I’ve researched a lot of baby related things and situations since my three children were born, so I have a lot of great information I’d love to share for those who want to know.

I’m no expert (minor Martha dig) but I like to help out where I can when I’m asked. So expanding the “Ask Mama MOE” page will simply be a collection of questions and answers from friends and readers looking for advice. That’s where you come in. Do you have a burning question you’d like answered that is mama related? I’d love to hear from you! And to get the ball rolling I thought I would make it interesting.

It’s no secret that one of the best things about having my blog, is to be able to giveaway amazing products to my readers. I love getting awesome stuff for you all! In celebration of my big revamp, Best Buy is giving one lucky reader a $50 gift card!!

So what can you get for $50 at Best Buy? Some pretty wicked stuff, actually! I set out to do some research of some cool products with my own gift card, courtesy of Best Buy.

OK, Thanksgiving is over, it’s cold out, Halloween is in a week (which means candy is everywhere) and I am starting to feel like a bear ready for hibernation. It must be the change in weather, because around this time of year, I start to eat a little bit more…OK, a lot more. So how can I let my body know that I do not need to store up fat until spring? A dance party of course! You thought I was going to say exercise, huh? Well, I tricked you and I’m tricking myself. Dancing burns off some serious calories and it’s way more fun! But you need your hands free to wave them up in the air like you just don’t care.

Belkin iPod armband from Best Buy Canada

This fashionably pink iPod armband by Belkin is lightweight with an easy fit. ($39.99 at Best Buy Canada)

As almost all mamas know, The Little Mermaid has been re-released on DVD and is available for a limited time. My kids have yet to see the whole movie. We know the music, we read the book, we met Ariel and rode on her Little Mermaid ride at Disney World this summer, but we still haven’t watched the movie! Not only do my kids love the Little Mermaid, but they have requested I dress up like her for Halloween. I’ll let you know how that goes.

So those were my two purchases at Best Buy, but there are so many other choices. Whether it’s movies, gadgets, or accessories, with $50 you can have some fun! (I’m not going to mention holiday shopping because I don’t want to think about that yet, so you be the judge)

SO! How are you going to be the lucky reader that receives the $50 Best Buy gift card? It’s real simple, leave a comment with a question for the “Ask Mama MOE” section of my blog. And if you are really lucky, your question might be chosen in the page as a future blog post 🙂 . For one bonus entry share this giveaway on your favourite social media channel (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest) but be sure to leave me the link in a second comment.

I really value your comments and I look forward to reading them all. Until then, good luck!

This giveaway is open to Canadian residents only. This giveaway closes on November 7th, 2013 at midnight.

Disclosure: I was given a gift card to write a review on Best Buy. All opinions, as always, are my own.

I need to ask about a 5 yr old boy and his insistence on peeing his pants. I’m so frustrated with him, he goes to the bathroom on his own, and goes when prompted. He still manages to end up peeing his pants at some point. He’s been getting rashes on his inner thighs because of it, but it hasn’t stopped him. I’ve tried everything I can think of, and next stop will be the doctor to just rule things out. Any tips or ideas I can use? I’m seriously stumped.

I am struggling hard getting three kids to bed at once. My oldest goes on his own, but the other three…..it is like a big party for them. It seems to take an hour just to get through all the routines. They are just having so much fun, but I am tired. What suggestions or tips do you have to get them washed, brushed and tucked into bed, so that I can enjoy that hour of peace for myself?

My question is about discipline. What are your suggestions for when your child acts out, ie says very hurtful things, and time outs just aren’t working. We have also tried the ‘time-in’ from the attached parenting model. My son is 4. We don’t encounter this problem often, but when we do, it lasts for 2-3 weeks, but it feels like YEARS.
